|Sayyid M.B. Kashmiri with members of the Charlotte community in North Carolina|
On April 8, 2017, Sayyid M.B. Kashmiri the Chairman of the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya and representative of Ayatullah Sayyid al Sistani in North America, visited the Al-Zahra Islamic Inc. of Charlotte, NC to mark the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (p).
Sayyid Kashmiri began his lecture by emphasizing the importance of getting in touch with the Ahl al-Bayt (pbut) in order to find proximity with God. After all, God has left us with specific infallible role models to seek guidance and direction from, specifically the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his progeny (pbut).
The remaining lecture focused on the life of Amir al-Muminin (p), how he was born in a place of worship, the Holy Kabah, and was martyred in a place of worship, Masjid al-Kufah. Sayyid Kashmiri continued that the first person to welcome him to this world was the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and Imam Ali (p) grew under his guidance and influence. He also discussed how special their relationship was as they were from two different generations, older and younger. Sayyid concluded the lecture by stressing the importance of a successful community where adults and youth are working together simultaneously, utilizing the energy and ideas of the youth as well as the wisdom and experience of the elders.
