Sunday, May 19th, 2024 is the 11th of Dhu al-Qidah, 1445 A.H, which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (p).

We can celebrate by reciting this short ziyarah and sending abundant blessings upon him (p).

O God, send blessings upon Ali ibn Musa al-Rida al-Murtada, the pious and pure Imam, Your proof upon those above the earth and those beneath it, the truthful, the witness. Abundant, perfect, pure, continuous, uninterrupted, and repeated blessings, like the best of which You have blessed any of those close to You (Your awliya’).

We can also reflect on the kindness of the Imam (p) as we read this story from Al-Kafi narrated by Shaykh Kulayni.

Imam Rida (p) hosted a guest, and they were speaking at night. The man noticed that a light was flickering, so he turned to fill it with oil. But the Imam (p) would not allow him to do so. Rather, he (p) filled the lamp with his own blessed hands. The Imam (p) is then reported to have said, “We are a people who do not allow our guests to serve us.
