I.M.A.M. adopts the prayer timings established by the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority (Marja’iyya) in Najaf al-Ashraf. These accurate calculations are accessible through the Astronomical Research Center (A.R.C.), an affiliate of the Marja’iyya office. 

Believers, brothers and sisters, can easily view religious prayer times by selecting their specific city, state, and country at the link below. The platform also allows users to generate, print, or download monthly prayer schedules in Word or PDF formats.

Additionally, the portal provides precise Qibla direction tools and tracks specific lunar phases, such as the period when the moon enters the constellation of Scorpio (Qamar in Aqrab), during which conducting certain transactions—including marriage contracts (aqd-nikah)—are considered makruh (disliked).

Clarification on Dawn Prayer (Fajr) Timings 

Inquiries frequently arise regarding the Fajr prayer time and its duration before sunrise, particularly during the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere when daylight hours are extended. The standard utilized by the Office in Najaf al-Ashraf determines the onset of dawn based on the widely accepted astronomical calculation of an 18-degree angle. 

Because establishing the exact entry of prayer time remains the personal responsibility of each individual believer (mukallaf), those who wish to practice religious precaution (ihtiyat) may choose to delay their Fajr prayer by approximately 15 minutes. This adjustment corresponds to a 16-degree angle, which is the calculation method adopted by certain other Islamic astronomical centers.

الأوقات الشرعية للصلاة

ملاحظة بخصوص وقت صلاة الفجر:

يكثر الكلام حول وقت الفجر، والمدة بينه وبين شروق الشمس. لكن بملاحظة واقع حال المدن الواقعة في أعالي شمال الكرة الأرضية، ولعوامل أخرى كطول النهار أثناء فصل الصيف، فمن الطبيعي أن تطول هذه الفترة. وعلى العموم، فإن مكتب النجف الأشرف يعتمد على ما هو المشهور في تحديد وقت الفجر وهو زاوية انخفاض قرص الشمس تحت ۱٨ درجة. ولكون أن تحديد وقت دخول الصلاة والاطمئنان إليه هو من شأن المكلّف، فبإمكان الراغبين في الاحتياط تأخير صلاة الفجر لنحو ۱٥ دقيقة ليحصل الاطمئنان، وهذا ما يعادل زاوية ۱٦ المعيار الذي يعتمده عدد من مراكز الفلك الأخرى.
