Can I give khums to my sister to make a down payment so she can afford to buy a house?
If your sister is a Sayyid, you can give her from Sahme Sadat which is half of the Khums, under the following conditions:
1- She cannot live in a rental because her status requires that she own a home.
2- She has no other means to own a home except through paying a down payment.
3- She does not have enough money to cover the down payment.
4- She has no one (such as a husband or mature children) to cover her financial needs, or she has one but they can’t cover her financial needs.
