Birth Anniversary of Al-Abbas ibn Ali (p)

Friday, April 20th, 2018, marks the birth anniversary of Al-Abbas ibn Ali (p), 4th of Shaban, 1439 A.H.

Imam Sajjad (p) is reported to have said:

“May God have mercy upon my uncle, al-Abbas (p). He preferred his brother [Imam Hussain (p)] over himself; he sacrificed himself for the sake of his brother until he lost his two hands for [this cause]. Thus, instead of his two hands, God will give him two wings with which he will fly with the angels in Paradise, just like Jafar ibn Abi Talib (p). In the sight of God, the Blessed, the Exalted, al-Abbas (p) enjoys a [special] rank on the day of Resurrection, and all the martyrs will desire a similar one.”

Shaykh al-Sadooq, al-Khisal p. 68
