IMAM commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyida Fatimah (p) during a 3-day event held in Dearborn, Michigan.

The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, which was followed by lectures from Shaykh Dr. Mehdi Hazari and Dr. Al-Mater. Dr. Hazari delivered his lectures in English, while Dr. Al-Mater delivered his in Arabic.

Dr. Hazari’s lectures highlighted the responsibility of Muslims, particularly, as it pertains to their relationship with God beyond the normal everyday practice. Some of the other topics that Dr. Hazari focused on included spiritual foresight and ingrained Islamic identity as crucial qualities, not only for one’s personal fortitude, but also for the spread of positivity in the community.

In his lectures, Dr. Al-Mater focused on the importance of worshiping God, by understanding the meaning of what is recited during the prayers. He also touched on what the expectations are from the Muslim community when it comes to worshiping God. Lastly, he also spoke about the events leading up to and after the martyrdom of Sayyida Fatima (p), according to Islamic history and mentioned the impact of her tragic demise.
