When someone is bedridden due to health condition(s), tubes are attached to collect urine and feces. How would one be able to pray if they are unable to wash their bodily excretions and be in the state of “taharah”?
If they are unable to purify themself from the impurities, albeit by wiping and changing their clothing/covering, then they must still perform prayer and it would suffice.
