Marjaeya & Fiqh Concepts at MICA

On January 24, 2023, His Eminence Sayyid M. B. Kashmiri was invited to the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, Maryland, where he presented the concept of “Marjaeya in the Shia Tradition” as part of their “Arab and Muslim Intellectual History” course. 

Students learned about the role of Islamic Laws in a Muslim lifestyle and the different methods jurists use to deduct Islamic laws from their sources. The session ended with a variety of questions and answers relevant to laws on personal and family issues. 

As part of the Community Cohesion initiative, I.M.A.M.’s scholarly team welcomes invitations from academic institutions, places of worship, and think tanks to discuss Muslim belief systems in an effort to bridge divides and promote better coexistence.
