Sayyid al-Sistani Meets Young Cancer Patients

His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (may God prolong his life) received a number of the medical and administrative staff at al-Warith International Foundation for Oncology, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Shrine’s administration in the holy city of Karbala. He also met with a number of patients who are being treated there, including some children accompanied by their parents. His eminence listened to a brief explanation of the institution’s work and the services it provides to cancer patients in providing quality medical care to all Iraqis of all sects and ethnicities.

Sayyid al-Sistani thanked the medical and nursing staff and all the employees for their great humanitarian endeavors and services, and prayed for their wellbeing, blessing, and continued success. He also prayed for the patients present at the visit and all other patients to have a speedy recovery and gain the best of health.

During the meeting, his eminence listened to a girl by the name of  Jannat Imad Abdul Wahhab, a leukemia patient, who expressed her thanks to the religious authority for caring for patients and her gratitude for accepting her request to visit and meet his eminence. She also said, “as soon as I entered to see him, I forgot my pains, his eminence is distinguished, he is something else [He is different].”
