Several of my acquaintances are supporters of the LGBTQ community. In all honesty, I am not clear on Islam’s view on homosexuality, why is it forbidden?
We believe that Almighty God is All-Wise, which means that not only does He do what is right, but also that He does not act in vain. Hence, every ruling that He has legislated has a valid reason behind it whether apparent to us or not. Islam teaches us to respect each and every human being, and to act justly towards every person, but this must be underscored by adherence to God’s religion and the code He has established for our lives. Among the evident rulings in Islam is the impermissibility of homosexuality. Although we have clear evidence that it is a forbidden practice, we do not have an explanation for the reason behind its impermissibility.
