Sayyid M.B. Kashmiri addresses the gathering while delivering his remarks

Sterling, VA – On Tuesday February 21st, 2017, Sayyid M.B. Kashmiri, Vice Chairman of the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya, was invited to participate in an interfaith gathering with the Honorable Ali Hassan Joho, Governor of Mombasa County, Kenya.  The event was attended by other religious leaders as well and focused primarily on improving interfaith relations and countering violent extremism.

In his contributory remarks, Sayyid Kashmiri spoke on the importance of having dialogue between the religious faiths that would eventually evolve and grow into cooperation and support for each other. He also emphasized the responsibility that individuals and communities have toward creating harmony to benefit all of humanity.

His Excellency, Ali Hassan Joho is the first governor of Mombasa County, elected in 2013. The city of Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya.
