I.M.A.M. Participates at Civil Rights Summit
On June 27th, I.M.A.M.’s Executive Team participated in several workshops at the 2023 Civil Rights Summit Hosted by the Michigan Civil Rights Commission and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. The conference’s theme was “The Impact of Discrimination on Health.”
The event focused on addressing the impact of discrimination on multiple health sectors, including current issues and best practices. The conference also aimed to underline the personal and social cost of prejudice by examining the connection between civil rights and health inequities.
Adapting Islamic communities into a diverse secular society depends on their resourcefulness; hence, I.M.A.M. collaborates with different professions and experts to enrich and empower the presence of Islamic institutions at different stages to bring resources that break the cycle of disparities.
