I.M.A.M.’s Style Guide

Presenting I.M.A.M.’s Style Guide

We are pleased to present I.M.A.M.’s public-facing style guide—an abridged version of the editorial standards used in our publications. Over time, scholars and organizations have requested access to our internal conventions, and we are therefore making this edition available as a reference for broader use.

Institutions, publishers, writers, and researchers are welcome to adopt all or part of these guidelines according to their needs. We believe that greater collaboration in standardizing the writing and presentation of Islamic and Arabic terms and concepts would have a significantly positive impact on readers—particularly non-Muslim writers, researchers, and editors. Consistency in terminology strengthens clarity, professionalism, and credibility, while reducing confusion in both academic and public discourse.
