Martyrdom Anniversary of Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra (p), 1447 A.H.

Monday, November 24, 2025, is the 3rd of Jumada al-Akhira, 1447, which marks the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra (p) according to the third narration.
A Wound That Time Could Not Heal
On the night that Lady Fatimah (p) was buried, a silence settled over Medina, one filled with grief, injustice, and the weight of unspoken truth. In that darkness, Imam Ali (p) stood beside her grave and spoke words that continue to pierce the hearts of believers fourteen centuries later:
“O Messenger of God!.. Your trust has been returned and Al-Zahra has been wronged.
My sorrow is eternal, and my nights are sleepless.
It is a wound that cannot be healed… Your daughter will inform you of the alliance against me and the usurpation of her rights…She is buried secretly under God’s eyes.”
(Al-Tusi, Al-Amali, p. 109)
Lady Fatimah (p) was not only the beloved daughter of the Prophet (pbuh&hp), she was the final trust he left in Imam Ali’s care. When Imam Ali (p) said, “Your trust has been returned,” it was an admission that the world had failed her. Despite her unmatched status in Islam, she was buried quietly at night, away from the eyes of the community.
When Imam Ali says,“My sorrow is eternal, and my nights are sleepless,” he shows us the depth of his emotional and heartbreak. His sadness was not simply that of a husband mourning his wife; it was a grief tied to the wider injustice inflicted upon the Prophet’s household.
One of the most moving parts of Imam Ali’s words is his certainty that Lady Fatimah (p) will one day speak for herself about the injustices she endured. The truth will be revealed before God and the Prophet (pbuh&hp) in a place where no denial can silence her. Her quiet nighttime burial was not a sign of her insignificance, but a testament to how deeply she was wronged.
May remembering her soften our hearts, strengthen our faith, and deepen our love for the Prophet’s family.
