Obeying the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) Is Obeying God: Quranic Proof
The Quran does not leave us in doubt about the mission of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hp). It shows us that he is not only the Messenger of God but also the teacher, purifier, and guide for all of humanity. Through his example, we learn how to live with faith, justice, and sincerity. Let us look at what the Quran itself says about his role and why obeying him is inseparable from obeying God.
The Quran’s Description of the Prophet’s Role
The Quran defines the responsibilities of the Prophets in many places. It highlights how Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hp) was sent as a guide to take people out of misguidance and lead them to the light of truth. His mission is not limited to words or rituals. It is a complete program for transforming lives.
The Practical Quran
God says in the Quran (65:2): “He it is Who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves, who recites to them His verses, purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they were before in clear error.”
This verse shows that the Prophet ﷺ was sent not only to deliver revelation but also to purify hearts and uplift communities. His role was to educate and nurture, making the Quran a lived reality.
Obedience to the Prophet Means Obedience to God
God says in the Quran (4:59), “O you who believe! Obey God and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you…” The Quran makes it clear that obedience to the Prophet (pbuh&hp) is part of faith itself. To follow him is to follow God’s command. His teachings and actions are a reflection of God’s guidance for us.
Come to God’s Revelation and the Prophet
God says in the Quran (4:61), “And when it is said to them, ‘Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger,’ you see the hypocrites turning away in aversion.” Here, the Quran places the Prophet’s role side by side with God’s revelation. Both are essential for true guidance. Ignoring either is a sign of turning away from the path of faith.
Conclusion
The Quran gives us a clear picture: the Prophet (pbuh&hp) was sent to teach, purify, and guide. Obeying the Prophet(pbuh&hp) is obeying God. God’s revelation and the Prophet’s example are inseparable. Together, they form the complete path for believers in this world and the next.
