Condolences and Call to Action: In Solidarity with the People of Afghanistan

I.M.A.M. extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the people of Afghanistan following the catastrophic earthquake that has claimed precious lives, left families torn apart, and entire communities in anguish, grief, and need.
At this time of immense pain and loss, our shared humanity and our Islamic values compel us to stand together in compassion and solidarity. Our brothers and sisters are suffering, mourning their loved ones, searching for shelter, and struggling to find food, clean water, and medical care. Ignoring their cries would betray the spirit of our faith. The Messenger of God (p) said, “All creations are dependent on God, and the most beloved to God are those who bring benefit to His dependents and bring joy to a household” (Shaykh al-Majlisi, Bihar al-Anwar, v. 74, p. 339).
Today, the earthquake survivors in Afghanistan await our response. Let us be among those beloved to God—those who reach out, relieve suffering, and bring healing and hope.
We call upon all members of our community, especially those in North America, to respond generously and urgently. Even the smallest contribution can provide warmth to a child, food to a family, or treatment to the wounded. The need is real, and the time is now.
While I.M.A.M. stands ready to assist in uniting communal efforts, we also encourage direct donations to reputable humanitarian organizations that are equipped to deliver immediate aid:
- International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), https://www.icrc.org/en/donate/urgent-earthquake-afghanistan
- UNICEF – Afghanistan Emergency Relief, https://www.unicefusa.org
- International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), https://www.ifrc.org/donate
- Save the Children, https://www.savethechildren.org/us/where-we-work/afghanistan
Let us unite our prayers, our hearts, and our hands in support of the victims. May God envelop the departed in His mercy, grant healing to the injured, and bestow patience and strength upon the survivors.
Together, let us be a source of hope, dignity, and humanity.
I.M.A.M.
