Know Your Prayer Times

Knowing when prayer time begins is the responsibility of every believer. To make that responsibility easier, I.M.A.M. adopts the prayer timings established by the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority (Marja’iyya) in Najaf al-Ashraf.

These timings are calculated and published by the Astronomical Research Center (A.R.C.), an affiliate of the Marja’iyya office.

Through the online prayer times portal, believers can select their city, state, and country to view accurate local prayer times. The platform also allows users to generate, print, or download a monthly prayer schedule in Word or PDF format.

Qamar in Aqrab refers to the period when the moon enters the constellation of Scorpio. During this time, certain actions, including entering into a marriage contract, are considered makruh, or religiously discouraged.

Clarification on Fajr Prayer Times

Questions often arise about the beginning of Fajr, especially during the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere when daylight hours are longer.

The Office of the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf al-Ashraf determines the beginning of dawn using the widely recognized astronomical calculation of 18 degrees below the horizon.

Because confirming that prayer time has entered remains the personal responsibility of each believer, those who wish to observe religious precaution may delay the Fajr prayer by approximately 15 minutes. This delay corresponds more closely to a 16-degree calculation, which is used by some other Islamic astronomical centers.

الأوقات الشرعية للصلاة

نلفت عناية المؤمنين الكرام إلى أن مؤسسة إمام تعتمد أوقات الصلاة التي يتبناها مكتب المرجعية الدينية في النجف الأشرف، والتي تتوفر عبر موقع مركز البحوث والدراسات الفلكية التابع لها.

بإمكان الراغبين زيارة الرابط الخاص بأوقات الصلاة أدناه وتنزيل أو طباعة جداول أوقات الصلاة بعد تحديد اسم المدينة والولاية والبلد.

كما يوفر هذا الموقع خدمات أخرى كتحديد القبلة والأيام التي يكون فيها القمر في برج العقرب حيث تكره بعض العقود كالزواج وغير ذلك.

ملاحظة بخصوص وقت صلاة الفجر:

يكثر الكلام حول وقت الفجر، والمدة بينه وبين شروق الشمس. لكن بملاحظة واقع حال المدن الواقعة في أعالي شمال الكرة الأرضية، ولعوامل أخرى كطول النهار أثناء فصل الصيف، فمن الطبيعي أن تطول هذه الفترة. وعلى العموم، فإن مكتب النجف الأشرف يعتمد على ما هو المشهور في تحديد وقت الفجر وهو زاوية انخفاض قرص الشمس تحت ۱٨ درجة. ولكون أن تحديد وقت دخول الصلاة والاطمئنان إليه هو من شأن المكلّف، فبإمكان الراغبين في الاحتياط تأخير صلاة الفجر لنحو ۱٥ دقيقة ليحصل الاطمئنان، وهذا ما يعادل زاوية ۱٦ المعيار الذي يعتمده عدد من مراكز الفلك الأخرى.
