[Dearborn, Michigan] – In a display of community and commitment to spiritual service, the Resilience, Identity, Support, and Empowerment Department (R.I.S.E.) at I.M.A.M  hosted a special Ramadan Iftar dedicated to the Association of Muslim Chaplains (AMC). The evening brought together faith leaders, clinical practitioners, and community advocates to break fast under the themes of Muslim unity, professional development, and collaborative education.

The event highlighted the evolving landscape of Muslim chaplaincy, emphasizing the critical role chaplains play in hospitals, universities, prisons, and as providers of spiritual and pastoral care. As the demand for spiritually-integrated care grows, the gathering served as a vital forum for chaplaincy advocacy, addressing the need for institutional recognition and the standardization of Muslim pastoral care. The intersection of faith traditions, faith-based support and helping services, various faith-based institutions, and the profession of chaplaincy were explored to increase collaboration and highlight the needs of the day.

Muslim chaplains serve as vital anchors for the community during times of crisis, providing essential spiritual guidance and emotional support across various institutional settings. By hosting this Iftar, R.I.S.E aimed to foster communication between Muslim imams, community and youth leaders, and institutions engaged in serving the Muslim population across North America.
